When taking a trip to Provence, France one must visit the village of Tourtour. This village is located in between the Verdon Gorges and the French Rivera. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village has a number of small flower-laden squares that are home to many different art galleries and boutiques. The lovely village of Tourtour is home to Domaine de la Baume, a beautifully restored 18th century guest house.
Domaine de la Baume is the perfect place to stay if you want to take in the gorgeous scenery of the hills in Provence. The grounds are complete with a pool house, a chapel, a formal French-style garden, and even a waterfall, beneath which guests can swim or receive massages. Enjoy spending time sunbathing on the pool house terrace or maybe even a visit to the spa. The spa includes a Winter Spa with two treatment rooms and a Summer Spa with three treatment rooms. The spa also houses a sauna, a heated swimming pool, a relaxation room, and even a fitness room.
When it comes to eating at Domaine’s there is not a set menu. The chef is inspired daily to create menus that bring in ingredients from the local market and fresh produce from the small local producers. The resort also hosts its own honey beehives and olive grove. The olive oil is made by being pressed at the Tourtour old mill. Cooking classes are also offered as a great activity for guests.
Domaine de la Baume even has its own equestrian farm and it allows guests to ride through its sprawling 99 acres. Ride around the property and explore the natural beauty of the grounds. This resort is an amazing get away for horse lovers.
