This Resort is a forty five minute scenic seaplane transfer from Vancouver, BC. It was inspired by the 19th century Great Camps and it is a great place for families and children of all ages.
The Resort offers twelve luxury ensuites and eight deluxe tents for their guests. Guests will find these tents have more comforts than some urban hotel rooms. It’s “roughing it,” but in royal style. All of the tents include a choice of one king, one queen, or two single Adirondack-style beds. Each of the tents are located near the water’s edge and under the canopy of the rainforest. They all have compositing toilets and private showers in a nearby showerhouse.
Clayoquot Sound is a true nature lover’s paradise. There are many activities offered for guests. Guests can go horseback riding on the trails in and around the Resort, and even to the edge of Strathcona Provincial Park. The Park is full of beautiful lakes, streams, rivers, and snow covered mountian peaks. The wildlife within the area consist of black bears, elk, cougars, bald eages, and swans. The guided horseback riding adventures are great for all ages and levels of interest. The Resort provides boots and slickers for all riders, should they be needed. The Resort has about 30 endurance horses and double teams of draft horses. Visit the Bedwell’s remote area of a deep old-growth forest that has large ancient cedars that measure 40- ft in circumference. It is also full of gigantic ferns. Also, visit the abandoned gold mines of “Bear City.” This city was once a turn-of-the-century mining town that boomed and busted during the times of the Yukon Rush and WWII.
Guest can experience a true Canadian Safari by going both whale and bear watching. Guests can ride on one of the resorts' dual merc-powered patoon boats and get the chance to see grey humpbackwhales and killer whales. Other great activities include: river and ocean kayaking, zip lining, archery, rock climbing, sport clays and target shooting, hiking, and fresh and salt water fishing excursions that are led by air-trained wilderness guides.
The Outpost spa tents give guests great views of the Bedwell River, while at the same time offering hot stone, Swedish, relaxation and Thai massages, aromatherapy, reflexology, and spa manicures and pedicures with hands, arms and legs massage. There are also great custom-made to order morning stretch or yoga classes.
